Researchers at Amirkabir University of Technology have succeeded in producing smart exothermic textiles
According to the Mehr news agency, quoting Amirkabir University of Technology, Arash Nazem Bushehri, the executor of the “Production of intelligent exothermic textiles” project at Amirkabir University of Technology, said: The purpose of this project is to make a fabric that can generate heat in cold weather conditions.
The researcher stated that this fabric is used as a separate garment or inside garments that can keep a person warm: In harsh weather conditions, this fabric can be used to generate heat. In addition, soldiers in cold climates, as well as various people working in cold weather, can use these warm clothes.
He stated that the use of this fabric also has a medical application, he said: (masculine) This fabric can also be used to relieve local pain.
According to Nazem Bushehri, heated textiles are made in various other ways. However, in this method, different elements with a diameter of one tenth of a millimeter and a battery-type power supply have been used to generate heat to generate heat. The elements used in this fabric are placed exactly between the two layers of the fabric and the elements are not clear in the final fabric. In this way, the dangers of burns and electric shock are eliminated and therefore this fabric can be used independently in contact with the skin.
In this way, the dangers of burns and electric shock are eliminated and therefore this fabric can be used independently in contact with the skin. The prototype of this fabric has been made but has not yet entered mass production and industry. The temperature of the fabric can be increased up to more than 35 degrees, which automatically stops when the temperature of the fabric reaches the set value.
Nazem Bushehri, stating that this dress can be used in hot seasons, said: Due to the fact that the temperature of the fabric is adjustable, it can be used in all seasons, and also these fabrics do not pose a danger to the consumer.
The researcher stated that there are foreign samples of fabric in the form of clothes in the country. But the production of domestic samples can be more economical in the country.
Referring to the advantages of heat-insulating smart fabrics, he said: (masculine) Adjustable temperature, no risk of electric shock and burns, the possibility of contact with the skin without the need for layers and esters, economical, easy and convenient production are the advantages of these fabrics.
The graduate of Amirkabir University of Technology continued: The garment and clothing industries can enter the mass production stage of these fabrics.
It is worth mentioning that this project was carried out in line with the master’s thesis in the field of textile engineering and under the guidance of Dr. Nazanin Azaz Shahabi and Dr. Mohammad Amani of Tehran.
