It is possible to be self-sufficient in the supply of raw materials for the textile industry

Mehrabi also explained about the supply of raw materials in the textile industry: A significant part of raw materials is produced inside the country.

She explained: In the clothing and textile industry, by converting basic raw materials such as cotton, acrylic fibers, polyester chips and propylene granules into yarn and fibers, it is possible to supply other goods along the production chain; More than 50% of our cotton consumption is imported and the rest is provided domestically. Also, our need for acrylic is 120 thousand tons and the establishment of polyacrylic unit can provide 45 thousand tons of this need. But in the current situation, almost all acrylic fibers are imported.

Mehrabi reminded: In the field of setting up active production units, we are obliged to support them, but specifically, the Organization of Small Industries and Industrial Towns of Iran diagnoses the projects in this area within the towns and takes action to set up production units.

She stated: In the textile and clothing industry, about 200 stagnant units have been activated over the past three years, and this year, the activation of 405 stagnant units is on the agenda. In addition, now the number of active textile and clothing industry units reaches 5,800.

We do not need to import woven fabric
